The scheme would work better on a Gremlin, which Continental did:
Check out the awesome Continetal logo seats (apparently made from the same cloth as the airplane seats):
This one was a contest give away. If I remember correctly the SW ones might have been issued to regional reps or something.
For the younger members of Oppo, Continental’s planes used to look like this:
For the really you members of Oppo, there used to be an airline called Continental, until United swallowed it up, and brought it down to United’s level.

Southwest ran Gremlins for a few years too - the Southwest cars were sales rep vehicles. They even had a pint size one:
